  • Re: Wednesdays (again)!

Regarding Medogsfat's entry: I'm sorry, I love British music but this is just Rose tinted spectacles! Sorry Chris. Only a few US artist to be classed as influential...ha! I won't go into all the influences American music has been responsible, but heres a few (and some that didn't even make the artist much money!): Derrick May / Kenny

Puncher, I have tried to reply to your earlier post but it has been halted, to be approved by a moderator (?)...Don't quite agree with your conclusion about Punk origins, did actually originate from New York in the mid 70's with The Ramones and Suicide, along with the zine 'Punk', which gave the music its tag. Also Cabaret Voltaire were

Sorry, but this is quite inaccurate. The whole punk thing was not English, but actually originated in New York in '75/'76; adopted by McLaren / The Sex Pistols and The Buzzcocks to become the blueprint for what we term as punk (English). Cabaret Voltaire and the list you mention are definitely not punk. The Cabs actually originated in the mid

Well the Killers are actually more influenced by New Order (even named the band after the New Order spoof group in one of their video's, 'Regret' I think), instrumentation, structure, etc...but I get your point about influence. Chris, Try the 'Place' on Ducie Street, Manchester M1. About 5-10 minute walk from the B&O store and all new so actually worth staying in. As a B&O phile, you'll appreciate the decor! There are a few more (Malmaison in Piccadilly, etc) but not as interesting.Andy

  • Re: Forum suggestions

I too am reluctant to say that I preferred the old forum, and by quite a considerable way. I've been thinking why this is to validate my response to this thread and I believe its down to a lack of a 'community feel'. • Re: Some very worrying news about Bang & Olufsen

Samsung need B&O for one thing: brand support. They wouldn't be interested in B&O for design, they have a massive team of excellent designers around the world, including Samsung Europe based in London which drives most of the creative / blue sky concepts: a more creative and informed team would be hard to find (and that includes Lewis'
