• Re: Beosound 8 review

Apparently the Zeppelin sounds better. Right.

  • Re: Ripping formats for Beosound5
Why ripping in a compression Codec? Why not just in WAV?
Because it takes up obscene amounts of space. ALAC or FLAC are much better options - they produce exactly the same audio, but take up less space...

  • Re: Beosound 8 is dumb

I couldn't comment on the B&O app, but if you can't wait, I have the app Tune In Radio which I would work fine on a BeoSound 8. Doesn't look as nice as the B&O one or offer some of the same features (easy remote-controllability or alarm clock), but it does give you a huge (ridiculous) number of stations!

  • Re: Pairing Cyrus equipment with Beolab 9
Hi Alex, quite correct, its about the products sonic matching i.e too bright together etc. I listened to a pair of 9's on saturday and not as impressed with them as I thought, but it wasn't a proper dem so I will reserve judgement. Cheers Nick
What didn't you find so impressive about them? Was

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 and Beomaster 6500
I suggest you get a Beolink 1000 in any case - they are the Swiss Army Knife of B&O remotes.
I would suggest this is a very sensible idea. It's the remote control all modern B&O remotes are built on, and apart from sheer old-age, they're practically indestructible!

  • Re: Beogram CD 6500, tray level adjustment?

My CD7000 tray is also slightly higher, although not quite as much as that. I would wait for one of the more service-savvy members to post, they may have an answer!

  • Re: Pairing Cyrus equipment with Beolab 9

I don't think it's the actual connecting which is the issue here - that's very straight forward! Nick is more interested in knowing what the combination will actually sound like together...

  • Re: Beosound 8 quality
Why do you want to play at 110db?
People expect iPod docks to play at silly volumes nowadays. I haven't heard a single one that does so far.

  • Re: Pairing Cyrus equipment with Beolab 9

I'd be interested to hear such a combination. I did have some Cyrus components for a brief (!) period which I would pass on to be honest! The BeoLab 9s don't exactly have a forward midband. Some people find they lack mids, but when set-up correctly, they sound stunning. I'd maybe look to go for something which complements, but contrasts

  • Re: Beolab 1 vs. Beolab 6000's / 8000's / 3's
Don't the Beolab 1s have twin bass drivers? The 9s have a single?
Yes, but the BeoLab 9s have a larger bass driver which seems capable of going deeper.
