CraigB: I was told the DVB-T would be available from next month for circa £500 £500 for a Freeview box/module?! Amazing. If I was going to purchase B&O kit right now, I'd skip the BV7 and wait a couple of months for the new BV8-32. Good price, excellent screen, HDMI socket (and components), upscaling and decent sound.

Do a search on this forum re. the film mode. There's an open discussion about it right now. Answer the backlight issue is this: try it on and off and see for yourself the difference between the modes. I prefer it on, for example.

2007 model? You mean the current 2007 version? Answer is: no. The latest model always ships with the latest panel, which is brighter, better contrast, refresh ratio etc. My first revision December 2004 model has considerably darker (almost 'gloomy' in appearance) panel compared to the temporary brand new BV7 I borrowed last November, whilst

Roger: A recent example of the effect (comparing Film Mode with the uber-cool BeoSystem 3) is when watching Casino Royale. Oh dear. This is the only (recent) movie when, for the first time in years, I turned on the Film Mode! I noticed a big difference from the start as, like you say, the camera follows the actors against a moving background. There

avus17: Has somebody any experience with cleaning the screen on BV7? I have a lot of troubles with cleaning it. Is it possible to buy some special solution for cleaning the AR screens? Dead easy - just wet some paper towel, wipe clean. Take some dry paper towel and quickly dry.

Beonut: Do you have a scart cable connected as well as the hdmi? It needs the scart for some of the control functions including on/off. No, I'm 90% sure there's no scart cable connected (as well as the DVI). However, the problem only really occurred recently and never happened with my old Sky box - it's only since the upgrade to the HD box

Morning, Has anyone else experienced this? Unless I keep the Sky HD running at all times, when I switch on my BV7, the Sky HD box doesn't respond to any remote commands. I have to leave the TV/box running for around 30 minutes before it starts responding to the remote. This isn't a remote control issue, as the analogue TV responds to commands

Alex: After both run ins with the BV7 I can honestly say it's worth the wait ... it's absolutely amazing. Most importantly, was the BS3 integrated in any way? HDMI socket(s)?
-
avus17: Do you know if this problem can be solved somehow? No, this isn't a problem with back-lighting. It's purely the quality of the (now old) LCD panel. The newer BV7 panels have an improved refresh rate, brightness and contrast levels. I noticed that the panel just appeared around 25% brighter than my old BV7. It's not a 'problem'

avus17: I have noticed that my BeoVision 7 32" I have bought used (1,5 years old) darkens the picture during dark film scenes even more than it should. This happens mostly when subtitles are displayed otherwies not. Does somebody have the same problems? Yes, this is very much a problem on older BV7's. My old 2004 model is very 'gloomy'
