wirralsimon: Kevin Thanks for the reply You must have been watching me! I pulled the trigger on this earlier today: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190104863075&rd=1&rd=1 It's a BeoCenter 7000 with remote control for £75.00 Thanks again Simon I saw this

Thanks for the update Ignace, it's always nice when people show their appreciation I hope it does the job for you, it came from a turntable that did work until the tonearm cartridge mount broke away. Look forward to seeing some nice photo's. Chris.

Graeme: @ Chris, this is the first pic I have taken in 7 years with her ears up, every time the camera comes out she adopts the most miserable expression you could imagine Ah - that "I've just lost a tenner & found a tanner" expression I know sooooo well. Funny, it's only my girl (Marnie) who defaults to this hangdog expression

Craig: Just one thing to consider with. CD units are no longer available for the 9000. Don't think they are avilable for the 8500/9500 either. Craig Very valid point Craig, the laser unit in the BC9000 seems to be growing issue of late but the 8500/9500 has so far proved to be pretty reliable and robust. I can only remember of one of these failing

It really isn't worth the efffort when you can purchase a brand new Soundsmith SMMC4 (which is superior to the MMC3 in most peoples opinions) for @ $140. Fully warranted although the import duties & shipping will push the price slightly over £100 but with the exchange rate as it is then now is the time to buy! A professional cartridge

Some parts are still available for these but I'd be quick as I suspect this will be limited to whatever dealers may have left in stock so you may have to shop around to find anything. The problem with removing the old tape is ensuring you don't scratch the silk printed black areas on the glass itself. Best bet is to use epoxy resin to reattach

Don't know your location but these are genuine B&O batteries (I bought some for my BC6000) and he's a very reliable Ebay UK seller. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Bang-Olufsen-B-O-Beocom-4-Battery-2-4V_W0QQitemZ330111072514QQihZ014QQcategoryZ86805QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Chris.

If it turns out you need a replacement cassette unit I have a couple of spares which you are welcome to for the price of a nominal donation of your choice to help fund Beoworld. Chances are it will be just the belts as these are pretty well designed & built units. Chris.

Craig: Chris, did this come from the same one that saved my BG4002? Did cross my mind you may still have parts of it. Craig That's the chappy Craig. This is probably the last part I had left over from it. The rest got donated to another beoworlder and this arm (fortunately for Ignace) got left behind Chris.
