Hi Paul, I've been down this route myself, briefly (though I seem to remember another member was collecting a few broken ones to give it a try). The main problem I found is that the mechanism itself is sealed into the casing using a filling compound which is hard and makes it very difficult to remove the bits you want to get to.

Yes and in daily use! BTW do you notice the handy powerpoint next to each speaker connection just in case actives were ever a possibilty?

I don't suppose she would be tempted by a pair of Pentas? Btw I have the S55 running off my B5500 sitting on a nice pair of stainles steel stands from Ikea at the moment they look and sound great

BeoPilot: Kevin: There is a counter to show how many hours the set has been on that may give an indication. Where do I find the counter? Press menu then setup (5) then 0 0 and go you will see the monitor option and there the service counters. Do not change anything!!! in this section. At your own risk but hope this helps.
