• Re: The Audiophile & B&O

I use a DAC Magic to run from my computer to my Beoport - but that is about it. Had a chat to people at Struer who reckoned their interconnects were as good as were needed as were the speaker cables. I have bought relatively expensive cabling in the past but feel that once a certain standard is reached, and this is pretty basic, that the rest is snake

  • Re: Compatibility across systems/manufacturers

Nice find! I would agree completely with Cleve that the Beogram to get is a 4000/4002/4004. The latter two will be slightly easier to maintain - it is worth getting a decent one that works rather than a non working cheap one as they are not completely straight forward to fix! The Beocenter 4000 is a beauty. It is based on the Beomaster 2200 which is

  • Re: Beosystem 8000....25 years late!

I prefer M100s - I prefer the sound and they look gorgeous! I think my wife would however not be too sad to see the back of those either but they are staying!! I find the veneer on the older Uniphase speakers to have a nicer finish - the later ones seem somehow a bit plastic in comparison. The MS150s are pretty spectacular though - the bass is far better

  • Re: beogram 2200 help

I would check that the suspension screws are completely undone first. I attach a schematic of the hub.

Not sure that Tim does a lot of repair work these days - it is also best to ring him rather than email.

  • Re: Beogram 6500, high frequencies notably distorted

I am sure Graham is correct - remember your stylus will probably be well over 10 years old and will be worn. Axel does a splendid job and is rightly recommended.

  • Re: Beogram 8000 Beomaster 6500?

It will work with a Beomaster 5500 but not easily with the 6500 - the Beogram 8000 has no RIAA and neither does the BM6500. In addition, the wrong pins used in the DIN plug for remote control - connect 6&7 together for this. You will need an external RIAA.

  • Re: Bang and Olufsen Outsourced
I doubt that anyone from executive positions at B&O are reading this forum
You would be surprised then - and a number contribute. Whether anyone has actually bothered to read the 20 pages of this thread is another matter but B&O do read Beoworld. If they have any sense they will regard the vast majority

  • Re: Cartridge - Beogram 6500

Your dealer can also source a new cartridge from Soundsmith who can provide a number of cartridges from about £150 to £1500+
