Thanks for the quick replies! Your digicam idea was great, the IR signals are very well visible through the camera, so the remote definitely functions. The problem must be getting the system to recognize it. We can't go back to the store that sold it to us since it's in another country (we bought it while on vacation). I will try the SOUND 1
