So you bought the 4000 that was on dba.dk at 900 DKK?
That's right. It comes with the MMC20EN pickup - so I guess for that alone it's interesting. Do you think it's a bad buy?
-
Thanks - it does move more than a few mms though. But I guess it's okay. I'm still waiting for the sensor bulb to arrive before I can actually hear what it sounds like. In the meantime I have bought a second copy which I will be getting in the weekend.

I am talking about the actual tone arm; not the carriage.

Argh - so what do I need to tighten? It looked a little loose that's why I tried to see if it was fixed. Of course by now I'm an expert in opening the damn thing ;-) Would the information from the 4002 service manual - 4.4 horizontal placement - also apply to the 4000?

Aha. Then I guess I should lubricate something. I saw a picture on the forum about which places to lubricate. I am however not sure how to remove the old lubrication and which lubrication should be used when re-lubricating. But the 4000 is truly a magnificent piece of hardware! I hope I can get mine up and running 100 %. Otherwise I have been offered

Thanks Søren. I guess I won't have to worry about that then :-)

I am wondering if the moving of the arm should be completely noise free? Would it need lubrication perhaps? Also I wonder if the tone arm should be completely fixed (not sliding from side to side), and how to fix that, if it shouldn't.

This SP15 cartridge came along with the Beogram 4000 (even though it was advertised as 'without cartridge'), however the small seethrough tip is missing. Is it possible to get it repaired? I have no idea whether the stylus actually works but I'm thinking of having it re-tipped at a later stage at http://www.classic-audio.dk/content/portal

Yes, it would. Otherwise it would not be able to dectect the 50 / 60 Hz.
-
Yes, I have now glued it on where is supposed to be :-)
