Absolutely agree, but realistically I think I'll try to find one within driving distance one day. I try to give as much direction as possible to the seller without assuming liablity for the packing process - but alas, it hasn't worked. Thanks for the packing tips though. Cheers!

FYI, my US B&O Dealer has this part number updated to: 3034003 Not sure if it's the same worldwide, but wanted to let let people know in case they are trying to order this part.

The first pair wasn't damaged by FedEx at all. It was damaged by the company that packaged it (in this case, a 3rd party packing company hired by the seller), I think we're getting messed up with semantics. In the States we have companies that do packaging and act as agents for shipping companies such as UPS and FedEx. They admitted fault and

Llewelyn, I'm going to fix them since I have a soft spot for B&O stuff in need of repair as can be seen in this thread . Unfortunately, mint condition 4500s are really hard to come by in the States. That doesn't of course rule out an additional aquisition if I ever find a mint condition pair.

Thanks everyone for the sympathy. I was really hoping for an original pair. The seller forgot to purchase insurance so he asked if a discount was acceptable. I took the deal since it would have cost almost $100 USD to ship them back anyway. I'll do my best restoring them, but still it's not the same.

I have no luck. I'm going to set the record for most number of damaged Beolab 3000/4500s. Look what FedEx just delivered/destroyed.

I love my Sennheisers, but not so much with my B&O stuff. In my opinion, the high impedence cans don't sound that great without a headphone amp. Same goes for my Beyerdynamic 880s and AKGs. For these cans I have a custom built tube amp designed around high impedence headphones. All my Grados, Ultimate Ears, and Shures sound great with the standard
