  • Re: BeoMaster 6500 - loss of stored FM stations

Hello, I agree with others that may be a lithium cell. Other possiblity that the NV-RAM (4IC2 PCD8583) is broken. If the battery is the problem then desolder the old, buy the battery holder for 16 or 20mm diameter (same as used on computer pcb for BIOS) and put the normal 1620 or 2016 or 2032 cell into this holder. I dit it in my beomaster 5500. The

  • Beosound Ouverture: upgrade to 2.1 (not ?) possible due to missing IC2 on microcomputer board 3

Hello B&O friends, I'm now lucky owner of two Beosound Ouverture systems 2631. The one has software revision 2.1 and other one 1.4. I wanted to upgrade the 1.4 system to 2.1. Unfortunately, after opening the case I saw that the 1.4 doesn't have one of the eproms (stated IC2 on board 3 in service manual). But the board has the place and drilled

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

Hello Yachadm, thanks for the advice about capacitors. I have to be more precise: I used Wima in the preamp section, Panasonic FC's for power section. Now I like the sound, I think I will not change this setup at the moment. If I get Nichicon caps maybe I find time to change to those. Regards satmonster321

  • Re: strange beogram CD6500 problem

Hello Sandy, I have(had?) the same problem with exactly one original CD. Then I discovered that this CD, if put into the player (Beogram CD6500) has another distance to the laser lens then other CDs. Then I put stickers on the bottom of the CD (in center), so if the CD was loaded, it was a little bit higher (bigger distance) from the laser lens. It

  • Re: SMD LEDs Storage/Moisture Sensitivity

Hello Rudy, the parts you want to store cannot have contact with air (humidity) until they will be soldered. In other words, keep them dry in a bag or other package that not allow the contact with the air. Even if the parts already had contact with the humid air, it is possible to "dry" them through slow backing in hot air. I dont remember

  • Beosystem 2500 - use "Tape" as additional AUX input for satellite receiver

Hello Beo-Enthusiasts! I removed the faulty tape mechanism from my Beosystem 2500 and connected the internal connectors with a second music source (AUX is connected to iPod, and the tape to music out from the SAT-receiver). The system works fine, I can hear music from the television if I switch to "Tape". The problem is, that the Beosystem

  • Re: Beomaster 5500 not always starts into standby - SOLVED?!

Hello Marin, hmm... is still working. I checked it with Beo 4 and MCP6500 remote. Using Beo 4 there was no problem with distance up to 7-8 meter. MCP6500 distance approx. 5-6 meter. The receiver works now since 6 hours (playing CD). The radio works too. Searching stations, displaying the frequency on the MCP etc. The distances are ok for me, I don't

  • Re: Beomaster 5500 not always starts into standby

Thank you Stuart (3400SJ) ! your tip was my hope. I replaced the battery (by the way I soldered the battery holder like in the PC on the motherboard) and all capacitors on the board 3. The system worked fine but only for the short period of time. In this time I could hear music, switch the sources (CD, AUX, Radio etc.) using remote. I was happy that
