• Re: How to read Year of Manufacture from Serial Number

I newly acquired a Beocenter 9500 and asked myself this question the other day. The serial nr starts with 0832XXXX. S/W 1,4 is also written next to type nr 2506. Is that the software version the Beocenter got from the factory?
Not as far as I am aware. My nearest dealer is over 100km away, a nearer one haqving closed some 3 years ago.
Guess we are spoiled in the scandinavian countries that way. Quite easy to find a B&O dealer if the city you live in is not to small. Living close to Denmark has it´s merits too.

  • Re: I'm angry and upset and its not even mine!

I´ve seen that they sell Beovision Avant 32 DVD RF for around 1000 Euro. Some people still buy them. In fact I am thinking of buying one later version myself. You get really good picture and sound quality for the money. I still have my Beovision AV9000. Probably not worth much today. I could not care less. I will probably keep it even though it´s

500 Euro! I would accept that price on a heartbeat, but something says me that the price is to cheep, even in Spain with their problems with the economy. Is there any good vintage/second hand shop for B&O stuff in Spain?

  • Re: Should I leave the Beocenter 9500 to a workshop before using it?
Dillen/Martin has a hobby doing qualified service on old B&O and I have used him for alot of my collection as I can't complain with the work he is doing. I got about 8 hours train ride back and fourth but its always worth it in the end. Living in Denmark does have its good things and that's qualified service

  • Re: BS2500 keep or sell?

The cd´s that it´s not playing. Is it burned cd's? Now I don´t have a beosystem 2500, but other B&O products from the same era. They can not read all the burned CD. It depends on how they are burned. Too high speed and they will seldom work. The tape deck is probably in need of service however. If it was me I would probably

Copenhagen is just one hour by car from me. Does Dillan have a workshop or do he do all work on the side as a private person? Good to know that there are someone experienced close by.
You can get a new belt from Dillen and it's easy to replace yourself. The adjustments are better left alone unless there is a problem. Same for the belt - if the deck works fine, you don't need a new belt yet.
The workshop said my belt was fine when they took that quick look on it. I am not that keen
If you want to have your BeoCenter serviced, have it done by someone who has done it before and knows what he is doing. If not, it starts with not having an idea how to open the BeoCenter and once they found out, the BeoCenter is opened and the glass panels fall off and break in the worst case scenario. On the other

  • Should I leave the Beocenter 9500 to a workshop before using it?

Maybe this post belongs in the Vintage forum. I just bought a Beocenter 9500. The asking price was just 220 Euro. No speakers or remote controll was included in the asking price. It was not a deal breaker for me. I already have a couple of speakers collecting dust. Thinking of using my Dynaudio speakers that I normally use together with my Thule Audio
