Hello all, I've bought a very nice Beocord 2000 K de luxe reel-to-reel tape recorder, working specimen needing just cleaning and minor adjustments, I believe. I really like to put it in top condition and learn to use its many features (mixing, echo etc.) but it is a rather complicated machine, and I have previous experience only with much simpler

I am wondering if anyone has ever wanted to have a good reel to reel tape recorder connected to their Beosystem, and then worked on how to control it remotely via Beosystems Datalink ? There has been some discussions on deciphering the Datalink protocol and building a controller device based on some or other microprocessor from scratch, but isn't

Success! Thanks for the encouragement, I bent the rod so that it is now some 1 mm shorter and the adjustments for the 45 and 33 discs are now doable! Also the end groove detection is more or less correct. So, the bg1700 is working again nicely! Thanks, -jari

I wonder, could this be "corrected" by bending the thin long rod underneath that rotates the tonearm ? Bending the end of it it so that it is effectively a bit shorter should move all the reference points (parking position, record drop areas, end groove start) closer to platter center. WIll this work or would I just cause more problems by

Nothing obviously bent or broken inside. The parking position is not parallel to the deck edge but it is also "off", i.e. the cartridge is about a cm closer to the edge than pivot end ot the arm. -jari

Hi all! I have an old Beogram 1700 which I got sort of working (freeing and oiling the actuator pin etc.). But I have problems with the record size adjustments! I have tried to adjust the arm drop for the 7 and 12 size records, but cannot get them adjusted far enough: the tonearm drops always before it reaches the record (starting some half cm outside

I agree! But note, that this was a local pick up only -sale, and they do tend to get only the minimum of interest (and end price, as well). -jari

Martin, Your restoration "diaries" are absolutely superb! They are really useful lessons in vintage equipment repair, and pictures are always very nice and incormative. Even the flow of the stories is... should I say, very entertaining! Please give us more...more...MORE!! -jari

PM sent for the Beocenter 1500... -jari

Looking more closely into the rest of the components, I got a slightly low value when measuring the resistor R141, ca.36 ohms compared to correct value (and in other channel) of 47 ohms. Could this be causing the extra idle current ??
