• Re: Compatibility across systems/manufacturers

I think the seller is disapointed in the selling price and this is the way he thinks you will cancel the sale. unsporty! If you still go to pick it up, remove the speaker frets and inspect the woofer on foam rot. He claimed everything works so try it I have the BC4000 as well and stll looks great for a '70 piece

  • Re: Electronics for beginners......

Repairing vintage audio is appealing to me as well. With a litle bit of knowledge you can replace most of the components. If I could not find the schematics of it and visually I dont see burn marks or exploded caps, I stop. http://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/F_tshoot.html Many information about electronical repairs you can find here.

  • Re: Attyca 1 project

You can use a filler (epoxy) from the car industry, it will get very hard and you can sand it till the surface is smooth. Normal filler will not hold. When you use the colour black, it needs a real flat surface with out dents etc etc. On black you will see every scratch/dent because of the light refelection. Do you have considered a metalic silver finish

  • Re: Penta midrange refoam
I have heard from someone who had the surrounds of his CX100's replaced by rubber surrounds. The did not sound like before, the sounded worse. In case of MS150's I have heard that placing rubber surrounds improved the bass. So it can go both ways......
I have refoamed cx50 with rubber surrounds in comparing

  • Re: Packaging to die for!

What a service! the box is already open! Hope your item is undamged. Some people have no experience in packing/wrapping for transport unfortunately... I always give the seller some intructions before i get by example a beogram arriving in pieces in the box.
