• Re: Bang and Olufsen Outsourced

@Bentleyman - I see what you are saying about the very early tube TV relative to income ( although i was using the MX era sets as an exampe) but I don't agree with your calculations, because house prices have also changed relative to income over the years. As Puncher has pointed out house price infaltion in the UK has distorted the comparison to
I agree...........the real world is still alive and kicking!!
@folkdeejay - my applause sir - a small island of truth in a sea of hyperbole.

Thanks for your kind words guys.... kind of playing devils advocate, but I just don't subscribe to the elitist, price-determines

Dkatz - with respect, I feel you are missing point, based on a "rose-tinted" view of the reality of the heritage of B&O, its actual trading history and where many employees and dealers would see the brand over the last 80 years. Prior to the panel TV range, B&O made CRT for decades. These CRT models were, without doubt, just about
I'm talking generally - Armani knitwear certainly is and a lot of "retail" versions of these brands (not those from a D&G boutique). But my point was that more and more fashion brands are outsourcing their manufacturing, but NO-ONE complains . It's not as if people are walking back in these stores

  • Re: Beolink 7000

I have a BL7000 that works on its charger - the motor works, the lights too. It quickly loses its charge, so i assume it is the battery that needs replacing. In reality, I am not going to do this, so does anyone here have a guide for its value as is , and is ebay the best place to sell an item like this ? It is in good condition - used but no major

  • Re: What is best for my Beovision 1

The remote isn't an issue - easyily bought/sold..... but I would be very careful about selling the stand on its own unless you have already sold the TV. There may well be bv1 owners looking for a floor stand, maybe instead of a wall bracket - but that would leave you with a tv that cannot be used unless any potential buyer also finds a stand...
The working conditions are completely different. If you want to know why you SHOULD care where it is made
I didn't say I don't care.... I said I don't mind...which is not quite the same. The reality is that the retail prices the market will stand are beyond the supply chain logistics for many E.U manufacturing
. I would never presume that I am somehow better skilled or more professional than my Chinese colleagues or that the product from their manufacturing plants is in any way substandard compared to those made in our US or European facilities.
Indeed - anyone with an ipad/macbook will know how well made they are

Dkatz - I have no wish to get into an argument or debate about what is/isn't a luxury brand, with or without a sub brand. However, two examples from the guitar world that do, I feel , counter your suggestion that the US brands are not succefully trading at the same time in the high-end, mid market and mass market. Here - a £7,000 Les Paul
