• Re: B&O or Loewe?

Agreed - Neither a Samsung or a B&O - with average ( at best) sound and no real "identity" of its own...... when the best thing people say about your brand is "its not as good as XXXX, but it is cheaper.... then you are doing something wrong. silk purse/cows ear etc etc.

A bit off-topic - but Rochdale is completely on its @rse - even Mc Donalds have closed their town centre outlet. I live in-between Rochdale and Manchester, and like nearby Oldham ( which recently saw its Poundshop close down - surely a sign of how bad things are ) Rochdale is just dying a slow, painful death. Like many post-industrial towns, there are

This is all true -but so many things that we buy are devalued/replaced quickly - its partly in the nature of big retail driven econmies to need to re-sell products sooner than actually required, partly genuine innovation. Aside from vinyl, CD, analogue TV and FM broadcasts which all had stability over some decades, the last 25 years have seen a kind
Let me reiterate - the company lost a small fortune in 2009 with a product range that included the BS1 & BS3. The main reason was a slump in sales - no one was buying the products. The profits you seem to think B&O are making on each product sold can hardly be referred to as a profit if the company is losing
I would personally buy a BS1 or even a BS3 for 500-600 pounds rather than a made in China BS8
Interesting that the BS3 meets your standards for manufacturing & build quality vs price ....I am fairly sure (although might be wrong) that I recall being told it is made a long way to the East of Denmark... and I

  • Re: Speakers picking up a radio station!!

You don't mention an audio system, if you had one, its sounds like "crosstalk" - which is when you hear an audio source at a low level even when it isn't selected. Do you have an audio system - if so, unplug it & see if the sound stops. Potentially you could also get crosstalk from any source in a system - so if you have a dvbT

Shame - sounds like you had a bad expereience.- I heard it in King Street in Manchester city centre - with a wide choice of music via ipad and also Spotify on the shop PC. It filled the shopfloor in a hugely impressive way -and its quite a big shop - and whilst it it would not be my choice for a "critical listening" system, but the sound,
