Vienna, Thanks for the comprehensive advice. The options I have are pretty clear and I will be able to design something appropriate. Stephen

Hi Hagen, Thanks for your reply. The BV7 is connected to the BM5 by DVI-I and SPDIF sockets so I get good sound and pictures. The BV7 only has a Beolab 7-2 connected at the moment. I thought I could connect a couple of passive speakers via a powerlink to the beolink passive to function as rear speakers. If I was outside I could then move these speakers

I assume that when you installed Beoplayer you registered it on the B&O site and then set the password on the Beoplayer to match the Beomaster password. I had a similar problem and resolved it by doing the above.

Hi Geoff, Is there value in AST if you have a simple BV7-40 and BL7.2 set up? Thanks for your advice. Stephen

I wonder why many of the newer products still have no description?

Hi Gerald, My Beomaster 5 has suffered the same fate and gone for a new motherboard. When they replaced your motherboard did it still have the DVI-I socket or was this upgraded to HDMI? I don't know why this product doesn't have an HDMI socket. It would certainly reduce the cabling to the BV7 Regards Stephen

Tried the on/off switch but it didn't help. My dealer now tells me it is a motherboard problem which will need to be replaced. I think I have one of the original models.
