A few days ago I discovered an old Unix shell script for basic command line control of iTunes via AppleScript. It was written in 2001 but, amazingly, it still works with the current iTunes version. The original script can be found here . Trying to avoid more useful work, I hacked away on this script and produced something which could be marginally useful

I just happened to read the Peter Pans Hjemmebio thread in the Nordic forum section. His latest post has a link to a recent BeoNEWS video (in English) where it is announced that BeoCenter 2 has reached end-of-life. Apparently production has already stopped, as only a "few hundred systems" remain. I suppose this was inevitable, but I really

I can't compare, but I had the same problem two months ago and went with Axel (Schürholz, at Schallplattennadeln.de ). I upgraded to a rebuilt MMC2 with a Shibata needle – and I'm extremely happy with my choice!

I forgot to add a few interesting links I've come across while ripping my CD collection lately: MusicBrainz Classical Style Guide, http://musicbrainz.org/doc/Classical_Style_Guide Taming iTunes for Classical Music, http://oakroadsystems.com/genl/itunes.htm On Classical Music Tagging (ID3 tags) for iTunes and iPod, http://www.tunequest.org/on-classical

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I've been thinking a bit about this myself, as I've just started to digitize my own CD collection. Connect the audio and video systems with an Audio AUX Link cable (7-pin male-to-male DIN) and put the audo system in option 2 and the video system in option 0

Since you already know the answer (disk drive needs time spinning up), and this time lag drives you nuts, I suggest that you disable any computer and disk sleep options on your MacMini. The power consumption is pretty low anyway. This will also prolong the life of your disk drive, as many power on/off cycles wears down a disk. Personally, I simply can't

I replaced my BL7000 battery with a newly made kit which I acquired from Thorsten Janz in Germany (eBay handle: netsroht66). It works like a charm. As I just discovered that he offers this item again, I'll post a direct link to eBay auction 270789375653 . Worldwide shipping and the price is fixed at EUR 24.90.
Ridiculous. I wonder what the price was new.
I managed to dig up some marketing blurb and a list price of £1,195 for the 1.5 meter cable. The part on experimenting with revised internal wiring configurations is quite funny: “The Chord Sarum Power Cable uses gold plated Furutech connectors. The engineers
