• Re: A trip to the Tonmeister - Struer Trip
Is it decadent to use Beolab 5's as rear surround speakers
Hi Stephan, Having demo'ed out a 7.0 system with 7 BL5's back when we did the press release of the BeoSystem 3 in Struer some years ago, I would say that the answer is "no". :-) cheers -geoff

  • Re: New to B&O: Rear Channel Speaker Advise Needed
Greetings Everyone My wife and I have talked about getting a B&O system for years, and yesterday we finally pulled the trigger and purchased the following: Beosystem 3 Beolab 9 (front channels) Beolab 7.6 (center channel) Now we need to decide on the rear channels. Seems like the Beolab 3, 4 and 4000 are the
All, Thanks for your valuable input. Geoff, many thanks for your comments. It would be really interesting to hear about your findings if you find the time to try the BL11 with the Montana shelf. Best regards, Emil
Hi Emil, Well... I gave it a listen in our main listening room in Struer. The setup was two BeoLab3's

Do the BL3's really sound better with a BL11?
Not sure that the BL3s necessarily sound better themselves, but the BL11 cuts off at 33Hz whereas I believe the BL3 cuts off at 50Hz. (fyi BL2 is 23Hz-120Hz)
Hi, While all these numbers are true, they don't tell the

  • Re: BL11 placement

Hi, I would not expect that you would have any problems with mechanical coupling causing your shelf to vibrate. Whether you'll have an acoustical coupling that will cause things to rattle is another question entirely. I would guess (but it's only a guess, mind you...) that you will have vibration issues in the shelf caused by the pressure wave

  • Re: AST - Adaptive Sound Technology
I am about to upgrade my BV9/BS3 with the new Digital Surround Module and latest s/w build. Can anybody answer if the attached loadspeakers to the BS3 can simply be "daisy chained" in a single "loop" from the BS3 or if they need to be at least Right and Left seperated in two "loops".
Hi Geoff, Is there value in AST if you have a simple BV7-40 and BL7.2 set up? Thanks for your advice. Stephen
Hi Stephen, If you have only the BL7.2 and no other loudspeakers, then you will not be able to turn AST on. AST requires that you have at least 3 loudspeakers connected in order to enable it (it will

Almost at random... make sure that you can view the TV screen from the viewing position.... Apart from that, it really doesn't matter where it is. :-) Cheers -geoff
Thank you very very much. I am still confused about a couple of issues. When in the set up menu and measuring all of the points from point A and B, one of the points measured to is viewing position. What is that position and how does it relate to the positions used with the presets obtained using the three speakers? Also
