  • Re: Feature article now in OCt WIRED magazine

[quote user="misteUS"] Hi I do believe that B&O has to increase the value proposition. I have been following B&O for a while and there was a point in time where their products were not not only beautiful to behold but also of the highest performance. Somewhere performance has taken the back seat. I would not call the Beolab 8000 or

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

Absolutely gorgeous, great job! I keep an eye out for these but so far have only managed to score the one pair of CX50's in white. Grills are fine, but I had to refoam and need to do the stripes. The bare aluminum looks great, did you spray it with clear coat or anything?

  • Re: B&O Spotted In Movies/TV

Pirates Of Silicon Valley, older made for TV movie in the US about the early days of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. In several scenes in Jobs office at Apple he has one of the B&O all in one systems with turntable, radio tuner, and cassette deck. Can't recall which one though. Interesting movie though.

Also, back in the day before flat panel TVs a lot of movies (Total Recall, Robocop to name two) used Proton TVs. I think it was because they had fairly modern plain black cabinets, looked high quality compared to the plastic cabinets of most mass market gear, and also since they were a niche brand not easily identifiable. Don't want to give out

The Dark Night, Bruce Wayne has Beolab 5's but I can't recall the other gear now, but it was all B&O.

  • Re: cx50 refurb

Very nice! Thanks for posting, the tape looks great on them, just what my CX50's need. The tape is pretty yellowed on one of them. It's odd, when I got them they were on the junk table of a local hifi chain that sold B&O before B&O went to dedicated stores. They were a pair but obviously not from the same year, one is obviously older

Newcomer here, wanted to compliment you on the refurb of your CX50's. They look wonderful, you did a great job! I recently refoamed my CX50's, with a kit sold by someone in the UK on eBay (I'm in the US). Went well, and I'd previously replaced the foam around the tweeters with parts from B&O a few years back. My stripes are discolored

  • Re: BeoLab 11 hands-on

Getting in on this rather late, sorry for necroposting on the thread but it seems relevant to what I'm thinking about. I have a pair of Beolab 8000's, original model, used with an original Beosound 9000, and am thinking about the Beolab 11 as an addition. Would like a little more weight, this is music only, for the 8000's. I have an Infinity
