• Re: Beolab 8000 turns itself on

Could be either a speaker problem or a problem with noise triggering the auto on of the speaker, which would I suppose be an environmental issue or cable. Try swapping the speakers to see if the problem stays with that speaker or with that side of the room. Then perhaps try swapping cables, or running the speaker without cables and see if the same thing

  • Re: Has David Lewis Passed Away?????

This is very sad and a great loss. I have two of his designs, the BS9000/BL8000 combo, 2/3 of my current B&O setup is designed by him. Truly a visionary.

  • Re: B&O Spotted In Movies/TV

A few years ago I saw BS9000, pair of Pentas, and. Set of link spkrs, 2500?, at a Chinese restaurant. Kind of surprised me!

  • Re: The last film you watched and said "I really enjoyed that"

Interesting, while I love the visuals in Lynch's Dune, I didn't find it a good movie otherwise. I thought the SciFi miniseries was a much better capture of the story, if not as visually compelling. Which surprised me as I am usually quite fond of Lynch's work. Just watched another movie where I found the visual eye candy to be the best part

Was watching a rerun of the new Battlestar Galactica and noticed in the appartment on Caprica that Boomer was in had a Century, black, wall mounted in a very modern loft type appartment layout.

  • Re: Apple & B&O: is imitation the best form of flattery??
Quite uninformed comment there, Jeff. You might want to code up your history quotient a touch. The Xerox Parc canard's getting boring - the real story is a lot more telling, and interesting.
Well, you might also want to not assume you know it all and lecture others based on things you read on the Internet

It always amuses me when Apple accuses any one else of stealing ideas, considering Apple is based almost entirely off ideas stolen from Xerox PARC and others themselves. The whole Apple vs. Microsoft argument basically boils down to who managed to more successfully develop ideas stolen from Xerox.

  • Re: B&O @ home | Self portrait...

Wonderful space! Love the stairs, so airy. Perfect kind of room for B&O style.
Living room view.
Very nice, I almost bought that exact lamp you have on the table! I still might for one corner, but for now I went with a Alessi paper lantern. I've been very impressed by many of the systems and rooms in this thread, in fact it's prompted me to finally get off my backside and work on

  • Re: Feature article now in OCt WIRED magazine

I agree with you re audiophiles. I've seen quite a few who claim, as in the princess and the pea, that their golden ears are sooo sensitive that they run screaming in pain if they ever hear a lossy file like AAC or MP3 fail miserably at telling the difference between WAV and MP3. Huge rationalization and excuse making usually follows. But I will
