Hi Susanna, Yes, you are on the right track! You'll need a DIN to RCA cable, coming out of the aux din socket on the BS9000, and going into an RCA Aux in on the Lifsestyle system. This setup will give you a straight line level signal into the Bose, for both the BS9000's CD player and tuner. Just a note, the sound settings(volume, bass, treble
A B&O CD changer..? I've never heard of that -please tell us more...
Hi Steffen, The B&O CD Changer was a special model made for the North American market only (I'm not sure if any were sold elsewhere?) during the early 90's. It was actually just a Sony 10 Disc Car CD changer (magazine type
Hi Tommy, I've e-mailed Steve at Heavenly Sounds twice over the last week without so much as a 'thanks for your enquiry' response. Are they usually this slow? Roger.
Hi REL100, sorry to have taken so long to answer your post as well. I'm not sure what Steve at Sounds Heavenly's average response

There is loads of B&O in Friends - Monica's apartment has a Beosound Century (I thinK) in the lounge.
Wasn't that a BS2300?
Yes, it was a 2300 in Monica's apartment (with BL2500's). I like seeing all B&O in movies and TV, but the 9000, BL8000

Yes, you're right, it is the Christmas Vacation movie, and it was a Beosystem 4500. Unfortunately destroyed by a flying piece of ice! Hard to watch!

Hi REL100, I have the same setup as you do (Beosystem 5500 with Beolab 8000 speakers. I am using audio cables with (RCA) phono connectors connected to the pre-amp out of the BM5500 into the Line In of the Beolab 8000. It works and sounds very well this way. There are two drawbacks to this connection however, the mute function doesn't work this way

Hope they fix up your 8000 well! Keep us updated. The B&O catalog I have for the BM6500 shows it to be rated at 50 watts per channel, which, when compared to the 8000 is probably pretty realistic. Either way, it's still a very good quality, good sounding amp (IMHO), just not quite as good as the 8000!
I am in Texas, USA. Gramophone in Denver states that many micrprocessor parts and transistors are no longer available to restore BM 8000's SoundSmith is very busy and is accepting voicemail inquiries. I am awaiting their return call, but, if Gramophone is correct, could it be that SoundSmith re-engineerings and

Hi Copperly, Welcome to BeoWorld! I agree with everything Doctor (Peter) and Tournedos (Mika) said. Don't be discouraged by what Pyramid said, as your Beomaster 8000 and Beocord 9000 will probably be repairable. As Doctor said, you just need to find a good service tech that will work on the older equipment, and do a good job. If you find someone

Hi Menahem, Thanks for sharing, that's interesting about the TDA1541! I agree about icons, a lot of them do seem to be more appreciated after they're out of production, than when their still manufactured. Tommy
