Hi again guys. Would it be ok to tape on the grounding wire (where it's attached to din socket metal casing) with some insulation tape? It's hanging on ok at the moment, but slipped off yesterday. I thought I could remove the cover on din socket and slide my wire in there but this isn't possible. I could tape it on with some insulation tape

Thanks a million Stoney, Peter and Jon. I'm after connecting the piece of wire successfully now and Leonard Cohen never sounded so good. . The humming noise is totally gone. Thanks again and very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot Peter. Sorry but I'm only new to turntables and vinyl - so can I use any wire as I didn't get any earthing wire with the turntable? And is there a special way I'm supposed to connect the wire to the metal casing of the DIN plug? Apologies for my stupidity here as this is my first TT. Thanks again and much appreciated.

Hi there, I'm only new here after purchasing a Beogram 1001 on ebay. I also purchased a cheap din socket/RCA adaptor to connect to my amp (Arcam Alpha 8 with phono stage).
