  • Re: What does the BS5 give me?

BS5 uses the song artists. As you say, extremely useless to navigate. In general, navigation on BS5 is a real pain. Incredible how bad they made it. You can scroll through covers. But the icons are so small that the only way to make something of it, is to remember from the time you used the CDs. They should have shown a bigger picture of the cover under

  • Re: Maintenance Mode

On the maintenance menu, select "Network Info" (third choice from bottom up). The third item is "IP Address". To exit from maintenance menu, select "Mode" (first choice), then select "N.Music" or "N.Radio".

  • Re: Beosound 5 and Virus?

The BM5 comes with anti-virus software installed on it. It is guaranteed to be updated automatically during at least 5 years, under the condition that the device remains connected to Internet. But as mentioned before, with a decent broadband router with firewall, you don't really need anti-virus software. Certainly not on such a dedicated device

  • Re: BeoSound 5 connection cables

There are 3 cables: one powerlink (looks like proprietary), one video (one connector is some form of DVI) and one USB (standard). Length of cables that I received was around 5 meters. You can probably get longer if needed, just let them know how far you intend to install BS5 and BM5 from each other. If you want to mount the BS5 on the wall, with cables

  • Re: beosound 5 new install

I noticed similar problems immediately after I had installed my new system. Impossible to store Favorites, for instance. Reboot didn't help. Then, after I had uploaded CD's to the BM5, it all started to work as expected... Alain

  • How to store numbered positions or colored lists?

The BS5 manual mentions that a radio station can be added to a colored list or numbered position. Procedure to follow is: 1. Select station 2. Press and hold GO-button 3. Select with the wheel 4. Release the GO-button When I follow this, in step 3, when I turn the wheel, the first letter of the station under focus appears to the left of the station

  • BeoMaster 5 Dimensions

I plan to buy a BeoSound 5 with BeoMaster 5. The BM5 will go hidden in a closed cabinet. The dimensions of the BM5 are indicated to be 38x28x10 cm (WxDxH). But there is no information about the required free space after the device, for cables and connectors. In other words, how deep should my cabinet be to accomodate a BM5 with connected cables ?
