  • Back Glass panel on Beocenter 9000

Can anyone please help? I need to change a damaged back glass strip on a Beocenter 9000. I am not certain how to remove it. Some time ago I had a problem with the CD door slide and I think I repaired this by looking at the Service manual in this site. I am sure that the assembly diagram I used had details of the back glass panel fixing also but I can't

I have cheated, I remembered a scrap set my son found in a local auction. Its tape deck had disintegrated belts and still did not work when I replaced them. I think the record deck was also faulty so I had put it aside to restore later. It gave me a working AM module so I transplanted them. I am now in business again. The connections to the leads still

I don't think it has snapped Martin but it looks as if one end has come adrift. I have been either brave, or foolhardy and unsoldered the three leads. it looks as if this is intended as the leads solder into reasonably substantial pads. I can see no damage to the small pinion but the mechanism does seem to have a tight spot. I would suspect it is

  • Beocenter 7002 tuning cord.

Can anyone advise me how to replace the tuning cord. I have assumed the AM module needs removing and at first sight this looks easy but I see complications. There is a multi-way connector and four screws that look as if they release the whole unit. There are however three leads that disappear under the cover at the rear of the main panel. These seem

As a user then Puncher and Diznik's comments apply to me. I don't mind where it is made, the technical and aesthetic design as well as cost is the essence. If I were a Danish politician, then I might have to think more deeply. After all if a company ceases to exist then it can contribute nothing to the country. If in all respects it has actually

  • Re: How to save Bang & Olufsen

Wow! what a lot to think about, it is hard to know where to start so all I can do is make a few observation. If we are considering the survival of B&O it is first important to decide what B&O means. For me it is a company that produces high quality crafted goods, aesthetically designed and of good technical performance, the Beolit range illustrated

  • Re: Will we 'own' music in future?

I agree that in the future we will not own "New music" in the sense that we do now. The advances in miniaturised storage will make it unnecessary and people are also used to tapping into a common pool for entertainment. Something will be lost however, there are some who like to own physical copy of performances. It may be an age thing but

  • Re: Beogram 3000 (Tangential version)

Thanks for the good wishes, as you say, it was made once and so as there are no broken parts it must be possible to get it to work again. One idea is that I could follow a scheme I had as a child trying to learn about clocks :- take out all the parts and put it together again-. The trouble is there were always bits left over. If I tried it with this

It looks as if I must look at the solenoid again. I am a bit puzzled about what is supposed to be happening. I have removed the PCB to check the solenoid and can not see what the bell cranks at each end do. They do not move very far but disappear under the cam wheels. The mechanism seems related to moving the pickup arm to the correct starting point

Martin, Yes I have removed the sub-platter and I have checked the cog wheels. They all seem free on their spindles but there are two with green plastic slides that I assume are the cam wheels. These are free but cannot be rotated more than a degree or two before giving the impression that there is some locking mechanism preventing further rotation.
