Maybe blowing a little compressed air at the laser lens will do the trick. Make sure you also clean the little clear tabs at either end of the unit where the glass door opens (the sensors that stop the clamper from moving if an object gets between them). If all else fails, you might need a new CD mechanism. I had mine replaced for $700 after 7 years

I still have my Penta III speakers, and they sound great. I boost the treble just a small bit to make up for the fact that they do lack crisp highs.

I beg to differ that the BV7-55 is a heavy and clunky-looking TV. It looks weightless on the tall floor stand. I faced a similar dilemma between the 10-46 and the 7-55 for almost six months. In the end, it came down to what looked better in my living room aesthetically, and not picture quality. In my opinion, the 10-46 is too close to the ground on

The only fault I've seen is in some really dark movies with sparse lighting, you can see a little "cloudiness". This effect is because the local dimming is trying to precisely illuminate just a few places on an otherwise dark picture. Sometimes

To remove the old tape marks, you might try using a non-abrasive, liquid car wax on a micro fiber cloth. A small dab is all you should try. This should dissolve the old tape residue without wearing down the clearcoat over the aluminum finish. Don't rub too hard, but just enough to get the marks off. You should treat the surface of a BL-6000 speaker
