• Stereo pair of RCA Pre-Out to Beolab Line In Cables

Will this cable make much different to the sound quality? At the moment I'm using the standard B&O Line in to RCA cables which were given to me when I bought the speakers to connect my Beolab3 to DACMagic but the provided cables seem to be very thin to me. This looks much better quality to me. But not sure if it will actually improve anything

  • Re: Beolab3 and Apogee Duet

If I use my Arcam8 Integrated Amp between Apogee duet and Beolab3 then the noise goes away. But it is a bit excessive. I should be able to connect speaks directly to it. This is the reason why I changed from DACMAgic to duet, so to have less equipments... Any other suggestion is welcome.

  • Beolab3 and Apogee Duet

Well... with much curiosity I've swapped my DACMagic with Apogee Duet! The sound quality I will say that they are about the same unless Duet require a bit of a 'burn in' time? But there is a convenient of the volume control with the duet. HOWEVER, I'm connecting my Beolab3 to apogee duet via 1/4 inch converter to RCA converter as provided

  • Apogee Duet vs DACMagic

Has anyone here ever compare sound quality of these two? I have a DACMagic. It sounds great. I'm happy with the sound quality but I'm having a bit of hassle controlling the sound using software on my Macbook. So I'm start to think about changing it to Apogee Duet since it has a nice little volume control but it is a bit more expensive. I

  • Re: DACMagic Sampling Rate

Thank you soundproof. I've just realised that I cannot output 96kHz. So I've some research and apparently USB only supports up to 48kHz. Am I correct on this? If so tomorrow I will go out and get an optical cable. With regards to Optical cable, does it make much different on the quality of the cable? I far as I understand it just transfer digital

  • DACMagic Sampling Rate

I've just bought a DACMagic today. Does Sampling rate the higher the better? Is that the general rule? My laptop sampling rate is 48 But I believe I can set it to 96. Will this be better?? Can someone please give me some insight... Many thanks.
The Arcam would probably do fine, you would be introducing an additional step in your signal chain. But why not use the volume control in the Mac, or use an iPod Touch/iPhone?
Hi Soundproof! you seem to know everything about audio! When you mentioned above about using Volume Control in Mac for DACMagic. So
