Thanks Geoff. You were right about the spring; it holds the display in place. (Thanks to Dillen too for letting me know.) I found that it's best to hook the spring to the side of the control panel with it removed and then snap the panel into place--this locks the spring to that side, making it easy to then clip in the other end. As for the grey

I recently received my recapped and soldered board from Martin (a.k.a. Dillen), and I can't wait to get my 8002 working again! But I'm stuck at two parts of reinstalling the board and control panel (of course, I didn't take photos when I was removing them ). First, there's a strip of metal that the service manual lists as 0064 (Part

Ok, here's an update: Even after adjusting the speed, I'm still getting a weird pitch problem. It's almost like something is slowing down the platter at a specific point in each revolution, a speed "hiccup" if you will. The last thing I tried was adjusting the platter height so that it's high enough to avoid hitting anything

Great! I'll check the speed that way and see if it tells me what's going on.

Really? I only saw the adjustments on top. Where are they located underneath?

The Speedstrobe uses a quartz-locked light that doesn't depend on the AC line frequency, so the hertz isn't an issue. I had checked and adjusted the speed with the chassis plate off (so that I could access the speed adjustments). I'm going to check the speed again with the plate on--maybe it's interacting somehow or something is rubbing

I hope some of the Beogram brains here will have an educated guess for what's causing this problem. . . . As the subject line says, my friend's Beogram 1800--which I had previously brought back to life with the help of this forum--is playing noticeably off pitch. At first I thought that the platter might be rubbing against the chassis, throwing

A buddy of mine has just started to get back into vinyl. He's using the later version Beogram 1800 with an MMC5 rebuilt by Axel. I was using this very table for a few years, pairing it with a Musical Fidelity V-LPS. I really like the V-LPS (so much that I still use it with my 8200), but now I'm wondering if my friend should consider the Cambridge

Thanks, Phil. I managed to get a tiny screwdriver in to adjust the counterweight (you're right that's a PITA! with the cover in the way). The balance was off a bit, and so I adjusted it until the tonearm floated. Voila!

[quote user="Phil Hunt"] 8Ks-start play and after play starts, command arm to no-mans land between disc and park position; set TF @"0" and hit "play"; servo will release arm. @"O" TF, arm should dwell at height where stylus would be just at disc height if disc was in nomansland. If not, adjust counterweight (under
