Do a search for Becocenter 5000 cassette desk problem. You will find a post from myself explaining the issue and fix, it is an issue of lubrication. Andrew

could be your turntable overloading your amp... what is your beogram 1800 connected to? Andrew

thanks Ablaumeise... the issue I had was that when listening to FM3 (ie the input is set to FM3), moving the FM5 dial will re-tune FM3, its almost as if there is a solder track jumped in the set, the repair tech has been looking at it and I expect to get the set back tomorrow, I will advise everyone of the outcome. Andrew

I would get some circuit board cleaner or contact cleaner from your local electrical parts store and clean up that corrosion on the circuit board. I would expect there are a few more belts in the unit (I am not 100%), if you join the site as a member you will get access to the various service manuals which would show you a diagram of the deck. Hi everyone, I had a repair shop fit a capacitor and lamp kit to my Beomaster 1900 as provided by Martin - the unit had the humming issue. I got the unit back and it sounded wonderful but I encountered the following issue (I cannot verify if this existed before the repair or not as I got the unit second hand it was humming so badly I had to send it

Hey there, Nice unit you have there. T here is a mute switch which mutes the speakers sound when the arm is moving on to the record or coming off... this switch may require cleaning. if you join the site and download the service manual you can find the switch Andrew

Hey Peter, as a follow up. A B&O store in Melbourne Australia is selling a refurbished Beogram 6000 with "new old stock' MMC4000 stylus. They have replaced the keypad with a new one and fully serviced, new belts, etc... My idea was to sell the Beocenter 5000 with a spare set of Beovox S35's I have, and sell the technics 1210 and use
