Funnily enough, even the upper registers seem to have improved (which I know is impossible).
Not impossible - at the frequency and slope which those woofers are crossed over, they affect the sound well into upper end of the spectrum. Jon

The 8000 is a"hybrid" design. It's not a true active.
Electrified, would you mind clarifying what exactly you mean in saying the BL8000 isn't a true active speaker? It uses an electronic line-level X-over, fed into a single
Hang on, god is a fictitious character....
Well, since this is an electronics forum, this isn't the place to argue that. Anyway, believe what you want; you certainly sound like your mind is made up anyway. But, you might regret that belief in the future, just to let you know... Truly I wish you the best

Alex, Don't waste your breath. "Electrified" seems to know a fair bit - which, humorously enough, no one is arguing, despite the fact that his replies are always mega-defensive, even when there's nothing to defend. But on the occasion he is wrong, God himself could come down and let him know about it, and this guy would have the stupidity

Haha! Wish I had seen this earlier. I work at night and just got up. Don't have time to drive into LA now. Oh well, hope someone who'll take care of them gets them. Jon

At the frequencies the BL2 operates at, if you placed it say....smack in the middle of an open room, it would see, for simplicity's sake, a 4pi radiating environment. Equal energy behind the sub as well as in front of it. Since the subwoofer is right down against the floor, it will more or less be radiating into half-space (due to the floor bounce
Hey Jon, that's the whole issue, you hardly can't find them in the original size that would fit properly. Spiros did an attempt some time ago but did not succeed (isn't it Spiros?).
How big are they? Jon
I am under the impression those specs are anechoic - so you could realistically expect the Lab 9's to be closer to 20 - 25 hz in room at -10db and the BL2 perhaps 15 - 18hz again at -10db ref midrange, in room, because of room gain.
Well, I don't think "The Cube" is really an anechoic chamber
-
Well, seems like you're dead set on the Lab 9's. B&O's low frequency specs for the 9's are -10dB at 30Hz and -10dB at 23Hz for the BL2. So, the BL2 is giving appreciably lower bass, although placement in your room can easily tip the scales one way or another. Did you ever play with the BL2 integration/setup? Or is this more just
