Hi all, I currently have a Beosystem 5000 hooked up to some RL140s, but I've just bought a BM8000 which will match the RLs better power-wise so I'm looking for a new set of speakers for the 5000. Can somebody tell me if it's possible to use my BM5000 with a pair of Beolab Pentas, and if so how?I know it can be done with the later Beomasters

Hi Geoff, thanks for the reply. Your analysis seems very plausible, and as you say the fact that this problem seems to have developed during shipping seems best explained by loose connections. I'm in the midst of university exams at the moment so unless someone has a simpler explanation it sounds like I'll have to wait a few weeks before I can

Thanks for the reply Jeff. That's solved the slider issue - I knew I'd be forgetting something obvious! As for the tuner, the symptoms you had sound slightly different to mine. If I understood correctly you had two issues, 1. initially you couldn't get the frequency to change on the display when you turned the frequency wheel, then 2. when

Hi all, I could do with a bit of technical advice on a Beomaster 8000 which I bought on impulse at the weekend on Ebay. It had been listed just minutes previously, had no photos on the listing yet, and was described simply as 'used but working'. I'd been looking for an amp to put in my bedroom for some time but had rejected the idea of finding

Hi, I've recently had the same problem as you with my RL60s. To answer your question directly the straps come off very easily. Each one is attached to the casing with one screw on the back. To remove the strap just undo the screw and slide the strap off (carefully!) to one side. Opening up the speakers is then fairly simple. Just undo all the screws
Do you mean home cinema i.e. surround sound or just duplicating the RL140 channels in the RL60 rears? The 5000 won't do surround.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting the full surround sound experience. All I mean is, I'm going to have the full 5000 system in the lounge anyway with the 4 speakers spread around

Thanks for everyone's tips. Martin I have sent you a PM with regard to the RL140 woofers and capacitor kits. Beomatt, thanks for the offer but it's now clear the RL60s need more work than just refoaming. I'm coming to the conclusion that it might be easier (and cheaper) to just replace the RL60s rather than try and get them repaired. That

RL140 #1 Bottom Woofer. This one is much worse as you can see. Will it be worth getting both of these refoamed? Is there anything else on the 140 I should look at while I've got it open?

Well, looks like I need 2 replacement plates as well as refoaming doing. Martin, is that something you can help with too? Here are the photos of the RL140 woofers. RL140 #1 top woofer. This one is relatively in tact, although there are signs that the foam is starting to go.
