I also gave the LaCie a go because of the optics but the configuration was really confusing and slow... Go for the WD, you will be impressed how easy the setup is and its good looking as well. I've learned one thing regarding the WD NAS: If you always want the latest Twonky server version installed on your NAS, go for something different. The WD

Hi Eric, the problem with the naming comes from the twonky server so its not unusual that you don't have the issue if the LaCie Network Space doesn't use twonky :-) I had the LaCie NAS as well but I've sended it back as it was horrible to configure I use a WD Live NAS now and besides the naming issue I am very happy. I am not sure that it

Since you have a Mac and some issues with the Beosound 5 Encore and organizing & covers, you might look at this thread: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/40671/339195.aspx#339195 Where I have summarized a workflow theat actually works ( at least for me :-) ) and almost everything is the way I want it to be. Have fun with your system ! Stephan

I will give it a try this weekend with FLAC... I just ran out of storage space so I couldn't try it til now. XLD gives fantastic results so its a breeze to transcode my library to any other format but it takes some time... Best regards Stephan

@Karel: I want to have a ripped reference file in the best format so I chose Apple Lossless for the first rip and keep this as my digital reference file for future transcoding. I started with Apple Lossless as this codec was released and always hoped that B&O would support this format...so its historical as well...

After several days of transcoding ( Format A to Format B ) and rebuilding databases on my Beosound 5 Encore and my NAS here is my “how to do it” thread so you don’t have to make all the mistakes by yourself. Hardware used: iMac running OSX Snow Leo Western Digital WD Live NAS with Twonky Server Beosound 5 Encore Software used: iTunes

Hi Volker, vergiss die Time Capsule! Falls Du Hilfe brauchst, einfach bescheid

To answer your question: The only upgrade of the Beolab 5 is adding ANOTHER Pair of Beolab 5's :-) The 5's are perfect the way they are in every aspect and B&O have to concentrate on the other end of their product portfolio The current portfolio needs more entry level products to get new customers not a Beolab X which is above the 5's

After a whole weekend transcoding, copying and klicking I can finally say I'm done! The issue with the album covers that don't show up could not be resolved, there was someting wrong with the file as I neither couldn't delete the files from the NAS nor adding something to the folder ( unknown error -50 / OSX system ) I formatted the NAS

I guess you will find some answers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management Since you've updated the software I guess with this update you`ve added the DRM "feature" Best regards Stephan
