  • Re: Refoaming Beovox S80

Shim and the magnet methood aside. I said I trust Leslie's touch more than some people using shims and magnets for a good reason. In the end no amount of "proper" preparation can account for the clumsiness of some DIY jobs. It would be fun to have a thread were we post up pics of botched refoam jobs we come across whether it be our own

Leslie I would trust the touch of your hand over my shims or battery trick anyday. As usual - good job. I think I did one set of CX-100 drivers that way.. I dont really think size makes it anymore difficult.

You will find what you are looking for within the month on our side of the pond. If you were looking at a 1200 or 900k or a 2000 in white I would understand. As long as I have been watching eBay listing it always seems as though things tend to come in waves, next thing you know the 5000's will be plentiful again.

I woldnt think so if the switch is good. the sets I bought off Thomas were all Euro models and they switched over just fine all I had to do was put new plug on them. One of my CD50's has a voltage switch in the back. Lets see how it goes with your bid but dont bid the farm. Something will turn up here soon - it always does. The most I ever paid

[quote user="Søren Mexico"] [quote user="Eugene"] Yes it is the specific North American Beomaster - I remember Peter freaked out when I flashed the spec with elctrical and service diagragm, Apparently it was one of thiose long elusive manuals Beowarld had been after for some time. Poor Soren - kind a like owning a car without

Wont matter, as Peter likes to say "No two were built the same" of the 6 I own only 2 are of the exact same architecture. the other 4 had all been slightly given different mods from one another Probably done in the factory at different times during the production life of the player. I really like the sound they produce. A good working CD50

Something a little more current - testing one of the Beograms before I drop it off at the dance studio tomorrow.
