I think the Beo5 is a cool looking remote control. However, having read some of the postings on this website it seems that it might be a difficult product to programme and configure unless you are technically savvy (which I am not, just an ordinary 36 year old with basic IT skills). I didn't even understand much of the tech language in said postings

Dkresz, you wrote "If you purchase the complementing BeoSound 5 unit to improve the overall appearance, gain the MOTS function and a better navigational means for your music collection then you can only control the system unidirectionally (i.e. only from the BeoSound 5)....." "Some control can be gained by using the Beo4 or Beo5 remote

If a two way remote is indeed introduced, it seems you can either control the BM5 from your sofa via the remote control or you can get off the sofa to operate the BS5. But why would you want get off the sofa if you can control the BM5 via remote control...? Why not just skip the BS5 and opt for a BM5 plus remote control only. In other words, it seems

Stefan, I guess that opting not to go wireless really means that the BS5/BM5 is not suited as a "companion" for a laptop (unless you are willing to disconnect the cable betweem the BS5/BM5 and the laptop when you want to work with the laptop in your lap)...?

Could anyone please let me know whether BS5 is capable of: 1) Fast forward/rewind within a track (not a necessity but probably nice to have). 2) When choosing a specific track on an album (rather than the whole album), whether you can (easily) disable MOTS in order for the to BS5 to proceed to the next track on the album rather than doing MOTS on the

I had feared something like this would happen, that the product would be marketed in a half finished state... I guess the reason for rushing this product to market in this state is B&Os current desperate need for cashflow. I understand this as a shareholder, but as a consumer and potential customer for the BS5 I would not dare buy it until in functions
-
I would be very surprised if the price was dropped, as according to B&O, the BS5 sales actually exceed expectations despite the current economic crises.
-
Is it possible to upgrade B&O's DVD players to Blueray by taking it to the dealer or other kind of "tuner"?
-
I'm thinking of buying a secondhand Beovision 5 - is it available in full HD? If so, how will I know (by serial number?).
