  • Re: Beosound 5 verses Beosound 9000

I just received my BS5 last week. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous when ordering as, in my opinion, when advanced software in introduced in any product, it usually increases complexity and the risk of problems. However, I have been positively surprised. It really is very easy to use, including copying playlists from iTunes/WMP with one click. There are

Any rumours of what B&O are up to with respect to new product releases this year? Any new speakers.....?

  • Re: Ripping formats for Beosound5

Just a quick addition to my comments. If you run an itunes library (for facilitate use of an iPod) in addition to your "master " library in Windows Media Player, make sure the iTunes library is NOT in a sub folder to your Windows Media Player library (which Windows 7 will probably suggest by default!)- otherwise, as Beomaster 5 accesses your

Ok, I've researched and think I found a good solution: 1) Rip CDs in "WMA Lossless" through Windows Media Player. Furthermore, if you want to download music, do this using one of the download services available through Windows Media Player to download music you don't have on CD (these are generally less lossy than iTunes' downloads

Carolpa, FLAC is fully compatible with BM5 but only to some extend in iTunes - as far as I'm aware it doesn't work on a connected iPod for example. PhilLondon, interesting idea with the AIFF format. However, is doesn't appear on B&Os list of compatible formats for the BM5...? I guess a reasonably practical solution to these issues could

  • Re: Ripping formats for Beosound5

Thanks for the link which, however, seems to support my above comment that FLAC does NOT work in iTunes. So the question still remains whether there is a LOSSLESS format which is compatible with BOTH iTunes and Beomaster5. I'm afraid not......

    I of course meant Beosound5, not 7.

  • Ripping formats for Beosound5

I am awaiting my new Beosound7/Beomaster5 and want to make sure I rip my CDs in a LOSSLESS format which, ideally, is suitable for both iTunes (where I manage my downloads and rips for my iPod) as well as the Beomaster5. My dealer has informed me that I can rip in Apple Lossless - great if it's true, but Apple Lossless format is NOT mentioned in

  • Re: Beolab5 upgrade

I've gotten the following reply from B&O (in Danish): "Det er korrekt, at der var en softwareopdatering i 2009 til version 3.00. Denne opdatering har ingen indflydelse på kvalitet eller lignende, men var udelukkende relevant for produktionen." Essentially, the software update did NOT have any impact on sound quality, it was just
