Dear Martin et. al. I do have an old non-working beomaster 5000. I wonder if simply swapping out the entire display section- which seems to include the IR receiver - may work in this case? I'm afraid that my soldering and electronic skills will lead me to a worse problem than the minor annoyance of the remotes not working. Or are the questionable

Thanks Mika A quick look inside showed no battery. I did not lift the panel to vertical, but I would assume that the battery would be easy to get to...since it's engineered by B&O! The reciever responded intermittantly to the remote(s) this afternoon. weird.

Suddenly. none of the 3 remotes I have for my beloved Beomaster 5000 is working. Recently my son got ahold of the MCP and I was wondering if he somehow disabled the Beomaster from communicating with the remotes? Hopefully there is a code... If not, I do have an older Beomaster 5000 of which I could possibly harvest for parts to fix the unit. Any advice

Drat, I unplugged and still no luck. Any tips on finding and replacing the IR receiver? Or perhaps someone else knows a code I can try? Can't help feeling that this is a software issue...

Hi Chris, The Beomaster does have power and works fine otherwise. The remotes also work when used with the connected MCL. If there is a reset button on the MCP I've never seen it. I tried the step...clear instructions, but only see a "no transmission" readout.
