Excellent, many thanks Derek. I'll try and get one of those. Yeah I finally worked out that the adjustment was on the laser... and that was all that I needed to tweak to get it working again. Unfortunately that was *after* I'd broken the cable, so spent most of my time fixing that first! :)

Actually I have another question! Whilst fixing the CD unit I noticed that the controller board (PCB 8) on the right hand side appears to bear no relation to the one mentioned in the service manual, and there appears to be no controls for adjusting the laser focus. Is this normal? Is the service manual model newer/or older? And finally... where can

Hi, I've just repaired a beosound ouveture but in the process managed to tear the delicate ribbon cable that goes from the CD controller board to the motor. I've made a temporary repair with some fine wirewrapping wire and everything works. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement for just the cable or is it simply supplied
