Thought so! What wattage of step up transformer will ensure the TV works at peak performance? I heard that even though the TV says "110w", I should get something much higher since the power surges when the TV is first turned on.

is there a voltage switch on these units? i can't seem to find one and the eBay seller seemed to think there was a switch, then all i would need is an adapter for the plug and i wouldnt have to worry about a step-up transformer. seems too easy...

Great thread! Thanks for the link to that. I will be using an external cable box/DVD Player so I have no problem with decoding. However, I'm confused re: the transformer solution though. The poster bought a step up/step down convert for 300 watts and it didn't work, however he then bought a 250w model and it worked properly? Here are the details
