  • Re: What is the best pre-amp to Beogram turntables?

I bought it from the link in my previous post. He seems a great seller, as it arrived in good time, and well packaged; free postage too. I use a DIN to RCA phono cable to connect the Beogram to the pre-amp, but I don't have a Beosystem so just have to use phono cables to my HI-FI a Pioneer XC-L5 with the surround processor. Pete.

Jorge, I got mine on ebay here Only cost me £98 and postage is free within the UK. Brilliant pre-amp, I even had to turn the bass down, (I thought I heard that the BG5005 was bass light!) I even play at the usual volume level as a CD. Only downside is the really bright LED on the front! Pete.

  • Re: What camera do you use?

I'm using a Panasonic DMC-FX3 with a Leica lens. Very good compact camera takes great pictures. Not too bad on machro either. I like the OIS that Panasonic: use makes it so easy to take pictures in low light or when unsteady! Pete.

  • Re: Beogram 1200 setup

I think I have a user manual for the 1200, got it after sending B&O an email and asking for it! Don't forget to set the speed adjuster to 0 (the dial on the left) when you're not using it for a while; eases the tension on the belt I think. Pete.

I've recently bought a Graham Slee Gram Amp Bridge. Looks well made (In the UK too) nice little black aluminium box. So far the sound is really good, really brings the base out compared to the cheaper one I was using. Now just waiting for my SMMC2 that I ordered a month ago from SoundSmith! Pete.

  • Re: Beogram 1000 stylus

Thanks for the reply Steve. I had sold both the stylus and cartridge, from what they said it fits, but just isn't heavy enough, not sure if it would need adjustment for the different cartridge and stylus. The arm it's being fitted to is the ST/L15 which I am guessing is the older type. Pete.

  • Beogram 1000 stylus

Hi, I am wondering, does the SP14 would fit onto the ST/L15 pick-up arm? I thought it would from what I read, but the person I sold it to says it is not heavy enough. Pete.

  • Re: 'Security tags' on stylus?

Thanks for the replys. I suppose it is possible that an older stylus has been fitted, but the diamond does look to be in very good shape. Maybe it's not had much use. Is it likely to affect the sound having paint on the canteliver? I wouldn't expect it to if thats what they do from the factory. Pete

  • 'Security tags' on stylus?

Hi, has anyone heard of people putting security tags on the canteliver of a stylus? And is it normal for an SP10 stylus to have blue paint on the canteliver? Thanks in advance, Pete.

  • Re: Beogram 5005, distortion on bass.

Thanks Peter, Looks like I'll be visiting the Sound-smiths website shortly! Not sure whether to stretch for a smmc3 or stick with the smmc4. Would I hear a big difference between the two. Can't spend much more than that! Pete.
