the sound quality is very poor as well. its not the receiver - i just did the cap job and when i turn on the radio, it sounds great. could the needle be messed up?

an ignorant friend of mine tried to stop a playing record by holding on to it while it was still on. now, the tone arm is having trouble lowering. it lowers but not as quickly as it should and it seems like the sound quality is less then it was. also, when i put on a 45, the tone arm didnt travel far enough onto the record to get to the lead in groves

I was lubing some parts in my 4002 and when i went to put the stylus back on, the clear plastic guard on the mmc20 cl broke off. the needle itself is fine. anyone know of a good way to reattach it? im really nervous to touch it because the needle looks so fragile

I actually just found a place thats a liscenesed B&O reapair shop that also works on vintage stuff. I just took my BM 2400 to get the capacitors replaced and was talking to the guy there that works on the older stuff. I told him how i have some other old B&O items that i may bring in and how the tone arm sticking on my 4002 and i asked him if

im now having some issues. sometimes it will randomly switch inputs from P to a different radio preset. i got some speaker wires off ebay, could it be that the polarity is wong on them and they are shorting something in the receiver?

where can you find the silicone grease?

i was tinkering last night and i realized that i could hear some sound coming out of the woofer but it was very faint. if i dont have my ear next to it, i cant hear it.

on my 4002, ive had to lube it several times for different reasons. ive had it to where id push start and youd see the lights come on and the platter would spin, but the tone arm wouldnt travel, therefore it wouldnt turn on. after taking it apart, i tried to get rid of some the crusty old lube and put some new lube on it. i used wd40, but that only

the speaker itself looks fine so my suspicion is that there is a wiring/electrical problem somewhere. are other speakers compatible with the s40's or do they need to be original?
