  • Re: Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4-42 Plasma help

Great, thanks much and this is just what I needed to know. Guess its buy both of them or neither of them. Was curious if it was a "stand alone" unit but from what you say its just a monitor and needs the System 1 unit. Am not concerned about interfacing a TV with the other systems in the house and do not use Apple TV, but if they need to work

  • Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4-42 Plasma help

Long time B&O fan and have a couple of the old "tv tube" style B&O televisions. Now have found a BeoVision 4-42 television for sale for a pretty good price. He said that it has a couple of small scratches on the screen, otherwise works fine. I have not seen it in person, needing to clarify some info about it first. My question for

  • Re: Repair at other than B&O service locations

David, Thanks very much and these were the people in the NE that Beomaster on Ebay sent me to years ago. Very happy with their work and glad to have their name again, just wish they were a bit closer! If I cannot find someone closer to where I live may have to start sending things back to them. Appreciate the name! Joe

  • Repair at other than B&O service locations

Did a search on this and could not find anything so will post a question. I have a MX5000 television that needs help and may be more of a repair than I have time for right now, as well as a B&O 9300/9500 (forget which, I have several of them!) that was dropped (divorce, do not ask) and the last thing I want to do is to plug it in without having

  • Re: Beovision MX5000 roll control and sound level issues

Marc, Thanks and how difficult is it to get to the capacitors that need replacing? Do not mind taking it a ways apart but if they are on the bottom of a stacked circuit board that takes hours to get to and there are hundreds of them to replace the "fun meter" goes downhill at that point. Any suggestions on where to buy these parts? Thx, Joe

  • Re: Beovision MX5000 roll control and sound level issues

Jean, Thanks for the reply and how much of a hassle is it? I built a Heathkit television as a kid (and it actually worked) so know what a soldering iron is used for! Is this for the roll control or low sound issue? Thx, Joe

  • Beovision MX5000 roll control and sound level issues

I have a Beovision MX5000 that has worked fine for many years now. In the last couple of months it has starting losing its roll control, and at times the picture will roll without stopping for a while. It does this for a while, then the normal picture returns. I assume that there is a "roll adjustment" somewhere on the television or in the
