Hi everyone! I have a beogram 1800 which I purchased new about 25 years ago. Currently the arm will lift and move to the correct LP playing location, lower to the record surface and then immediately lift and drag across the turntable surface to its resting location. What is causing this to occur? Can I easliy correct tthe problem?

Lee, I own a beogram 1800 and for some reason the arm will lift and move to the proper position for and LP, the arm will set down and then lift off the LP and drag across the surface of the turntable making a terrible racket. Why is it doing this, and how can I correct it? Thank you ! Rick
