I had the upgrade done a few months ago and in my opinion it's well worth doing. The HD connections are component and a single DVI socket (located to the rear left of the BV6). I've been using it with an upscaling dvd player and Sky HD and there certainly is a vast improvement in the picture when using a hd source.
