If the small belt is ok (not slipping!) check the clutch mechanism that is ultimately moving the tone-arm.Usually backwards works but fastforward or play not. I have found a cure for this.

I have tried a hair-dryer, sometimes with success sometimes dont. Is there really no way of adjusting the height of the tone-arm carriage on tangential B&O Beograms?

Hello! < will not forward the carriage much > on the other hand works. Also playing is possible at times but most of the time during playback the carriage does not forward, it will get stucked. Hello! I'm still struggling with this one. One improvement is made and that is that 45rpm singles now plays well, the adapter doesnt get stucked anymore. But on 33 rpm records the weighing mechanism is too strong on several records.

Previously I had the problem with the weighing mechanism, through cleaning the inside of the Beogram seems to have cured that problem.But now I face a more severe problem, the carriage itself that is controlling the tonearm is almost stuck in play mode! It will not forward during play and also pressing < is not moving the carriage freely

Hello CJ, can you pls put a photo of that spring part that solved your problem? I've recently checked my BG3000 and it still lifts light 12" records a bit. And the weighing mechanism jamming when not used for a while.

Hello! I also have a BG3000. The first problem was the record weighing mechanism for '45 stuck until played with some 10 times, then it succeeded playing singles. Just Splendid! The need of re-newal arised lately,since I think my Sound-Smith has been somewhat worn during only 1,5 years playing! I sent this German company some questions regards to the repair.Looks promising though.The biggest problem with Soundsmith is the customs fee related.
