My Avant was purchased in 1997, VCR model. Recently the screen has started to flicker and to show red tinted screen with red horizontal lines, instead of the transmitted picture. Is this a sign that my tube is about to blow?

Thanks Elmar. My speakers are connected directly to a BeoSound 3200. It's working ok, with the one remaining speaker. The BeoSound is plugged into a surge protector, whereas the speaker I have a problem with is not. I have tried unplugging power and sound cables.

I have Beolab 8000 speakers. I think they have been fried by a power surge. The power light is red, but no sound comes through from my cd player. Can you let me know how to repair - no B&O dealer in Mauritius, so I need to have specifics for an electronics guy to have a go at fixing for me. Many thanks
