The woofers we removed with ease and without damage to the cabinets. A few gentle twists of a large standard screwdriver allowed the woofer to be separated from the glue that was holding them in place behind the baffle. Thanks for your help sorting this out.

Ahh okay, thanks for that info. I'll keep at it.

No such luck. That plastic ring has been cemented on.. I'm going to try gently heating it with a heat gun and will report back upon completion. Wish me luck!

Thanks Peter. I'm inside the speaker, and have completely removed the clips. Unfortunately the woofer is mounted on the outside of the baffle behind the cosmetic circular plastic cover. I'll post a picture when I get home later today.

I'm having some difficulty working on a pair of S45 Type 6427's with foam rot. I've dissasembled everything that I can but I still cannot remove the woofer due to the plastic ring on the front of the baffle. Any clues how to remove that plastic baffle ring? Thanks in advance, Chris
