These are both areas that handle large currents (the other one is under the rectifier diodes, the other one seems like a regulating stage) and therefore generate quite a bit of heat in normal operation. The circuit board material will darken with age around such hot spots. I wouldn't worry.
(Kiitos vastauksesta
So, with this new white obsession of mine, I've started to get a little more detailed... Custom white audio cables. Once I get back inside of these pieces for the recap, I'll be adding white power cords as well.
Evan, I LOVE what you've done to your Hot-Rod Beosound 4500 "Custom". The minute
maybe another pair for another room? :)
No kidding. Since I saw how good these look and heard how good they sound (IMHO better than my Beolab 6000s) I have been scouting for another pair for a complete Penta surround sound system (Logitech calls this"Stereo x2) in the family room. I recently scored an AV 7000
BTW, brillant idea to refinish the copper with the veneer!
This copper decoration is "Peel-N-Stick". It has a durable plastic layer on top of it to prevent the actual copper strip from oxidzing. The complete tickness of the strip you see below is ~0.009" or 0.23mm, without the protective film and
...picture of the whole Penta including the labs and the base.
Your wish is my command... I hope this shows what was missing in the previous pictures.

EGoh, Beautiful work on those Pentas! Daeng! The black cloth with the "New" black bases look fantastic! The elimination of the lips on the skins would have saved me BIG $$$. Instead I ordered the skins from B&O and replaced the worst pieces (5 in total). Sorry I dropped off the edge of the world... Found my way back from the island and

Egoh - The adapter that I bought from B&O is affordable! You get LH and RH adapter in a box for ~US$38. They use the regular PL cables ~3mm in diameter. I hid mine under the baseboards and only show the connector. The RH adapter takes RH signal and connects it to the RCA connector on the speaker. The data from your Beosystem goes to the oddball

Hi Eric. A few pictures of my Pentas pre the new skins from B&O. Wrinkle on back of LH Penta. Wrinkle on back of RH Penta. Needs a new top cap as well (from B&O). Re-rubbered Mids. Missing the skin I peeled off and measured. I started with gluing the ID to the cone. It helps if you stretch (slightly) the inside flange rubber. Experiment... This

Thanks for the feedback, I' check the caps and resistors before I send it away. I decided to buy the skins from B&O since nobody promised they could do the 0.088" inside lips for the skins. Buying the gear (leaf brake) to do this kind of forming would cost more in shipping than the cost of 4 skins from B&O. I dont have a thread so I'll

Wow! I'm working on a project just like yours. Keep us posted on your progress! I picked up a complete used 5500 sysem with CD, TT, TD, BM, MCP, 2 BL1000s and 2 Penta Mk1. My Pentas looked like yours on the outside with both tops bent badly (dragged across floor?). If you are interested, I made a CAD dwg of the skins that I could forward to you
