Hi Marc. Reg. the rotary dial of the MCP: if you open the Panel (screws on the back side) you will find that there is a switch connected to the dial. Cleaning of the switches contact surfaces solved the problem in my case. Just take care that the MCP's push-buttons do not fall down during disassembly. Regards beorooter

Hi. Thank you all for your replies! Nitro2, you have a pm. I dissambled the player again to check the mechanics. The aluminium-tray where the CD is put in runs free through the front all the way. Also the bracket above the CD-mechanism (the one keeping the clamper to keep the CD on the CD-mechanism) is fixed properly on both sides. So no contact between

Hi. Second mail and already a question. Some days ago I bought a CD 5500 via ebay. First functionality check of the instrument was promising: CD tray went OUT and IN without any noise.
