With regards to the comment from Chintz re the early Beocord 9000 having a protection circuit and not a fuse the serial number of mine is 2673009. I can spin the motor spinde freely by hand so i am hoping it is not that? If mine does hav a protection circuit

HI I have just been playing with my Beocord 9000 which has been in the attic for a long time when suddenly the tape will not move at all. The heads engage then disengage after about 2 secs. the fwd/rwd butons just make a click sound but thats all. all other displays seem ok.
