  • Re: BeoSystem 4500 Restoration

Good work and great pics. I read elsewhere on here that some mirror panels have the flat grey factory paint finish underneath, some people were just removing the polished layer to reveal the near new factory grey finish underneath. I think this was on the 9500 mirror panels. not sure it applies to the 4500.

  • Re: Want to learn to work on vintage B&O audio -where to start?

Thanks all. but I'm in the US. I love this site, but I wish there was as good a forum based in US. And it's sickening to see the prices (and freebies) and all the expert repair work more commonly available in Europe. In the US, good, reasonably priced vintage B&O is rare. example- a CDX just went for $428 USD on US ebay. And repairs are

  • Want to learn to work on vintage B&O audio -where to start?

I have a couple of general elec circuitry books a friend gave me and have read some basic web pages on circuitry etc. I don't know much but am motivated. I have not even ever soldered anything and have chunky hands, I barely know the diff from a capacitor and a carrot! but I do have passion to learn. The vintage pieces are too amazing to be on a

  • Should I Buy -Beomaster 6000 80s - BG 8000 - S75 -S55 w/ stands paperwork orig owner in US - should I buy?

Hi, I mentioned these in another post but not as the subject. Trying to decide to buy the set. Cosmetically all like new, s55 has foam rot and I noticed some rust on a speaker stand, BM 6000 has the remote option and vol control issues, BG has needle drop issues, and speed sensor readout fluctuates, has 20cl cart. All cables, brochures, boxes for BG

  • Re: Beocenter 9000 questions

reviving this thread- Did a remote come with the BC9000 originally? I have an option to buy a 9000 with a Beolink1000 remote for $500 USD. Looks clean and described as all working but cassette sounds muddy. I know value is the buyer's determination, but I wonder what these are selling for in the US. I think many B&O items are a little cheaper

  • Re: Newbie here but with a B&O history - love this site

I passed on the system. The smaller speakers were not S45, but S55 and had foam rot. Rest of system was exc cosmetically. BM6000 had vol issues, BG8000 had needle drop issues. but the main reason I passed is it's not exactly what I want and repairs would double the cost. I probably could have ebayed it in parts and made money, but not feeling like

Working fine now in plain txt mode, I assumed iPad needed enhanced mode. I see some s45-2s just got put on ebay US. Something I didn't mention is I bought a beocenter 9000 (the cass/cd all-in-one) on ebay US and then read about the cd issues here and how complicated a machine it is and seller is allowing me to back out if I want, so I'm telling

Thanks, mode was set on advanced, I just looked, but have to post in the HTML mode. Anyway, what USD price range would cosmetically pristine BG8000, BM6000, and the early s45 and s75 speakers go for, never refurbed etc, assume they work but will know tomorrow when I check them out. Orig owner, boxes, stands, manuals. I know value equals what a buyer

Hi, site not iPad friendly? so there were maybe 3 s45 versions? Orig 3 driver ones called s45 then a s45-2' then in the 80s the 2 speaker, split grill s45? Yikes, the more I research the more confusing it gets on the s45. I Had to go to the HTML source editor link to type in on the iPad, I'm away from my home Mac mini. Hope to see the items

Hi, thanks so much for your input. It just says S45 and S75, but I assume? they were all bought at the same time. THe picture he posted shows 2 matching speakers, one larger. both have 2 angled planes in the grill that indent to the center, rosewood box, and aluminum square shaped stands. -just did a google search and see some s45 pix. the one seller
