  • Re: BG CD50 carrier motor not spinning enough - a temporary solution

Hi All, Murphy's Law struck. After a nice Christmas Day weather wise it has become quite cool by our Australian standards with temperatures about 20C. Now the BG CD50 is not spinning up a disc Oh well, back to the workshop. Can anyone tell me or point me to the way to do a oil change on the carrier motor? Also, can anyone tell me the size of the

  • BG CD50 carrier motor not spinning enough - a temporary solution

Hi All, I have a BG CD50 which has the well known issue with the carrier motor oil just being slightly to thick due to age. I am yet to work out how to fix it by dismantling the motor but found another temporary solution. Whilst those in Europe are in a freeze here in Australia it is warming up quite nicely. My workshop is in the roof space so gets

  • MCP 5000 compatibility with BG CD5500, BG CD6500 and BG CD7000

Hi All, I have a BM 5000 system with MCP 5000. If I add a BG CD5500, BG CD6500 or BG CD7000 will it be compatible with the BM 5000 system and MCP 5000? If compatibility is limited is there compatibility at the basic level of stop, play and similar functions. (I rarely use any programming functions - either too old or too lazy). Cheers Richard

  • Beogram CD50 Symptoms

Hi, This is a sister post to one concerning a Beocord 5000. I have recently bought a Beogram CD50. I have downloaded the service manual. An aside. When I bought the full B&O 5000 system I was told the CD player did not work and the price reflected this. Got it home, put a CD correctly into the tray and pushed play. Music and very good sounding music

  • Servicing a Beocord 5000

Hi, I am servicing a Beocord 5000 tape player. I have downloaded the service manual and it is clear that this is a unit that is intended to be fixed not dumped when it stops functioning. Seems to be well laid out. I recently bought the unit together with a full 5000 system. There are a few minor issues with the system. I am starting with the Beocord

  • Re: CD50 How can something this old sound so good?

Yes I am in Australia but S.A. Unfortunately I doubt if I can get to Melbourne in July. Thanks and I will need to keep it in mind.

  • CD50 How can something this old sound so good?

Hi All, I recently was very lucky to find a B&O 5000 system complete with CD50 and Beogram 5005. The sales person explained the CD50 was not working but everything else was OK. A check in the shop seemed to concur. Once home I set things up and found the following: The components are built like tanks. No flimsy chassis or cheap plastic bits. Perhaps

  • Re: Beogram 8000 and 3000

Hi Martin and others, Thanks for your comments - saved me making a mistake and getting it in the neck from my wife. I do not have a circuit diagram for the BG 8000 but had heard it was micro controlled and not a synchronous motor. I am watching a US BG 8000 and it currently is a good price. Needs a tachodisc etc. What sort of cost is a power/transformer

  • Beogram 8000 and 3000

Hi All, New to Beoworld though I have had a Beocenter 2002 since 1981. Still doing good service. A few of questions. Beogram 8000 voltage requirement - with a 240 V to 115 V transformer will a US Beogram 8000 work happily in Australia (240V 50Hz)? Ie is the electronics all DC and not using the frequency for something special? Is Dillan still in the
